One of the most interesting case study was Tower's Grand
Re-Opening of their Lincoln Center store in New York.
Tower chose to close this record, book and video store
(at Broadway and W. 67th Street just across from Lincoln
Center and ABC-TV) for a complete remodeling and expansion.
During the down time Borders Books, HMV Records, Virgin Records
and Blockbuster Video all opened in the neighborhood. Often,
this heavy competition would mean the death knell for any
retail business.
Clark & Associates was called on to create a five day Grand
Re-Opening Sale campaign to accomplish the seemingly
impossible task of successfully re-introducing the Tower
store at this all important location. Sales receipts
from this one store topped $1,000,000 in the five day
sale period, breaking all existing Tower sales records,
including those set by Tower's enormous Greenwich Village
store. Tower's Lincoln Center has re-established itself
as the dominant store in New York's Upper West Side.
